Terms of service

The rules for using Rowvana: one account per person, you are responsible for what you scrape, subscriptions renew until you cancel, and payments are handled by Paddle.com.

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Rowvana ("Rowvana", "we", "us") for the Rowvana Chrome extension, the website rowvana.com and your Rowvana account (together, "the service"). By installing the extension, creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them. If you use Rowvana for a company, you agree for that company.

2. What Rowvana does

Rowvana helps you copy information that is shown on web pages into spreadsheets and data files. All scraping happens in your own browser, on pages you open, and the results stay on your computer. We provide the software; you decide which websites to use it on and what to do with the results.

3. Your account

  • You sign in with a Google account. Keep it secure; you are responsible for what happens under your Rowvana account.
  • An account is for one person. It may be used on 1 device(s) at a time. Signing in on another device signs out the oldest one, and moving between devices too often in one day is limited.
  • Do not share, sell or rent your account, and do not try to get around the device limit or plan limits.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to use Rowvana.

4. Using Rowvana responsibly

Scraping can be subject to website terms, copyright, database rights and privacy laws. You are responsible for making sure your use is lawful. In particular, you agree not to use Rowvana to:

  • break the law, or a website's terms of use that apply to you;
  • get around logins, paywalls, CAPTCHAs or other access controls you are not allowed to pass;
  • collect personal information about people without a lawful basis, or use it to spam, stalk or harass anyone;
  • copy and republish content in a way that infringes someone's copyright or other rights;
  • overload a website or disrupt its service.

Rowvana checks robots.txt and avoids clicking buttons such as "buy", "delete" or "submit" by default. These safeguards help, but they do not make a particular use lawful. We may suspend or close an account that is used in breach of these terms.

5. Plans, trials and payments

  • The Free plan costs nothing and has limits described on the Pricing page. Paid plans unlock more.
  • New accounts may get a free trial of a paid plan (3 days of Starter at the time of writing). No card is needed, and the trial ends on its own.
  • Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com, who is the merchant of record for all orders. Paddle.com handles payment, sales tax or VAT, invoices, and customer billing questions, and its buyer terms also apply to your purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in the billing portal (My account → Manage billing). You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Prices are in US dollars. If we change a price, the new price applies from your next renewal after we have told you, and you can cancel before then.
  • A founding or other launch discount stays with a subscription for as long as it renews without a break. If you cancel and later subscribe again, the current price applies.
  • Refunds are covered by our Refund policy.

6. Our software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Rowvana while you follow these terms. Rowvana, its code, name and logo belong to us. Do not copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the extension or its licence checks, except where the law allows it. Updates may add, change or remove features; if we remove a major feature of a paid plan, you may ask for a refund for the unused part of your current period.

7. Your data

The data you collect with Rowvana is yours, and you are responsible for it. We do not receive it. How we handle your account information is explained in our Privacy policy.

8. Availability

We work to keep Rowvana running, but websites change and a scraper that works today may need adjusting tomorrow. The service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. If the extension cannot reach our server, it keeps your paid features for a short grace period.

9. No warranty

Rowvana is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises that it will be error-free, that it will work with every website, or that the data it extracts will be complete or accurate.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Your responsibility to us

If someone makes a claim against us because of how you used Rowvana in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

12. Ending

You can stop using Rowvana and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, with notice where reasonable. Sections 4, 7, 9, 10 and 11 continue to apply after your account ends.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, tell you by email or in the extension before they take effect. If you keep using Rowvana after that, the new terms apply.

14. Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. If you live in a country whose consumer laws give you more protection, those protections still apply. Questions or complaints: support@rowvana.com. We would much rather sort a problem out with you directly.
