Who we are
Rowvana ("we", "us") makes the Rowvana Chrome extension and runs the website rowvana.com. We are based in Bangladesh, and the service is provided under the name Rowvana. This policy explains what information we handle when you use the extension, the website and your Rowvana account. Questions: support@rowvana.com.
The short version
- The pages you scrape and the data you collect stay on your computer. They are never sent to us.
- Your saved scrapers, settings, proxy lists and any API keys you enter are stored in your own browser, not on our servers.
- We store your Google account's email, name and profile picture, your plan, and a record of which devices are signed in.
- Payments are handled by Paddle.com. We never see or store your full card number.
- We do not sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
What we collect and why
When you sign in with Google
Google tells us your email address (and that it is verified), your name, your profile picture and a Google account ID. We use these to create your account, recognise you when you sign in again, match purchases to you, and contact you about your account or subscription. We do not get your Google password or access to your Gmail, Drive or any other Google data.
Your plan and purchases
When you subscribe, Paddle.com sends us the details we need to turn your plan on: your email and name, the plan and billing period, the subscription's status and renewal date, the order number, the card brand and its last four digits, and a link to your billing portal. We keep these to give you the right features, show your plan in your account, and handle refunds and support.
Signed-in devices
A Rowvana account can be used on 1 device(s) at a time. To make that work, the extension creates a random ID for each Chrome profile and sends it, with a short device label such as "Chrome on Windows", when you sign in. We store it with the time the device was last active and a log of when an account moves to a different device. We use this only to enforce the device limit and to help you if you think someone else is using your account.
Technical information
Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and browser type with each request. Our hosting provider may keep these in short-term server logs to keep the service secure and working. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
What we do not collect
We do not receive the addresses of the pages you visit or scrape, the content of those pages, the rows you extract, your exported files, your saved scrapers, your proxy lists or proxy credentials, or API keys you add to the extension. The extension only talks to our server to sign you in, check your plan, and open checkout or the billing portal.
The help chat
The chat on rowvana.com is answered by an AI assistant. Your messages are stored in our database for up to 90 days, so we can follow up and improve our help pages. To write an answer, your message is sent to an AI service (Google Gemini or Groq). We don't send your name, email address or device IDs, and email addresses and long numbers you type are removed first. Some AI services may use what they receive to improve their products, so please don't type passwords, card numbers or other private details in the chat. If you ask for a person, the Rowvana team reads the conversation and replies by email.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses one essential cookie, "rv_session", to keep you signed in, plus a security cookie that protects forms. It remembers whether you chose light or dark mode in your browser's local storage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies. If you press "Watch the demo" on the home page, the video is loaded from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com), which then applies Google's own privacy policy.
Who else handles your information
We use a small number of service providers, each only for its job:
- Google: sign-in.
- Paddle.com: checkout, payments, taxes, invoices and the billing portal. Paddle.com is the merchant of record for your purchase and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Railway: hosting of our server and database.
- Cloudflare: domain name, network and email delivery for rowvana.com.
- Google (Gemini) and Groq: writing the help chat's answers, as described above.
These providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
Google user data and the Chrome Web Store
Rowvana's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use it only to provide and improve Rowvana's single purpose, do not transfer it for advertising, and do not let humans read it except with your permission, for security, or when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you have one. A sign-in lasts up to 30 days, after which it expires. When you delete your account, your profile, sign-ins and device records are deleted straight away. Records of payments are kept, no longer linked to your account, for as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your choices and rights
- See and download the information we hold about you: email us.
- Correct it: your name and email come from Google, so update them there and sign in again, or email us.
- Delete your account: on the My account page, or by email. Cancel any active subscription first, in the billing portal.
- Sign out a device: on the My account page.
- Object or complain: email us. If you live in the EU, UK or another place with data-protection law, you may also complain to your local authority.
Security
Connections use HTTPS. Sign-in tokens are stored only as one-way hashes, so a copy of our database cannot be used to sign in as you. Access to the admin panel is limited to the people who run Rowvana.
Children
Rowvana is not meant for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters, for example we start collecting something new, we will tell you by email or in the extension before it takes effect.
